Dr. Sarah E. Carter MD, MS

Dr. Carter completed her medical training at the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. After working for several years in a general rehabilitation practice, she has joined PNBC to subspecialize in the non-operative care of spine disorders. Her background in PM&R includes expertise in traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, and post polio. She is skilled in treating  spine disorders in these patients. In addition to her clinical work at PNBC, Dr. Carter also performs electromyography (EMG's) for the diagnosis of nerve and muscle disorders.

She chose PNBC because she has seen firsthand how powerful a comprehensive strengthening program can be for getting patients with spine problems feeling better, doing more, and improving their self esteem and quality of life. She believes muscular and biomechanical fitness is crucial in maintaining function and preventing relapses in chronic spine conditions. She enjoys educating her patients and giving them the tools to self manage their spine health.
