Dr. Sturm graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1970 and pursued a career in general and thoracic surgery. As a surgeon, Dr. Sturm was a member of several multispecialty surgical teams doing surgery on the thoracic and lumbar spine. Dr. Sturm’s role in these operations was to provide exposure of the spine for the spinal surgeons. He began practicing emergency medicine in 1982 and further developed his interest in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions of the neck and back. He became a disability evaluating physician and practiced in that area also from 1989 to 2007. Dr. Sturm joined PNBC in 2008.
